A hombre Ahmed Pathan who lost 20 kg to overcome health issues and fell in love with fitness

Ahmed Pathan, like umpteen, decided to join a gym and live a healthier lifestyle. But, like many others, he was unable to carry out his plans. He weighed 104 kg at the time and kept complaining of "constant aches and pains." When Ahmed became tired of paying gym fees for places he was never likely to experience, he decided to switch to a more cost-effective weight-loss app that guided him through the entire process. He founded WFH - WELLNESS | FITNESS | HEALTH. It's an app that drives you to pay attention to your diet and workouts, essentially transforming you into a healthy habit-building lifestyle.

Soon after joining the WFH programme, he began working out six days a week. Ahmed dropped from 104 to 96 kg in a month. In three months, he had lost more than 18kg. We love to bring you the story of a real man who transformed his body and lifestyle. We hope that his incredible transformation from 104 kg to 84 kg in just three months will inspire you to start your own weight-loss journey.

The reason that Motivates weight loss

To begin with, I was experiencing some health issues in early 2019, including severe knee and joint pain. My doctor advised me to lose weight because any excess weight would only increase the strain on my knees. I used to have a lot of aches and pains." A doctor warned me that I was at risk of developing diabetes. And that thing struck my head and it was kind of the reason I wanted to switch to a healthier lifestyle.

I was tired of BRO-SCIENCE and their weight-loss diet plans. And then, luckily, one day I saw an article about the success story of a weight-loss warrior, and I got to know about WFH - WELLNESS | FITNESS | HEALTH. When I read about the app's features and how it includes a personal coach and a dietician to help you along the way, I assumed it would be very expensive. However, money was never a concern for me in comparison to my health, but the app was so affordable that I didn't give it a second thought before enrolling myself.

What is the most difficult part about being overweight?

The severe back pains and knee pains are at the top of my list of concerns. Words like high blood pressure, which can strain your heart, damage your blood vessels, and increase your risk of heart attack, stroke, kidney disease, and death, used to scare me a lot.

And I also read that being overweight or obese may increase your risk of certain health problems such as high blood pressure, so these things and their implications for my health were frightening to me. Apart from that, the feeling of having excess weight is something you can never explain to someone but you could only experience that And, to break the ice, berg, it wasn't the best feeling.

Starting Phase and procedure of transformation journey

When my doctor informed me of the health problem, I began doing some research on the subject on my own. I discovered what BMI and TDEE are. BMI is a method of calculating required body mass based on height, weight, and age. TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) estimates how many calories you burn per day while accounting for your physical activity throughout the day. These terms were at the heart of every fitness journey.

Fortunately, I discovered that WFH had all of the features and calculators built into the app. All you have to do is enter some basic information about yourself. Everything is covered, from daily caloric intake to fat-burning workouts. You won't believe me when I say that finding all of these calculators and figuring out how to use them is extremely difficult. WFH, on the other hand, explains every detail to you, which was very interesting for me because I love to understand the science behind it.

Diet followed

The diet was carefully planned by WFH's dieticians and nutritionists. They asked about my food preferences, and my work schedule, and devised a meal plan that suited my tastes. My meal was mostly made up of fibres derived from green vegetables, with a side of multigrain for essential minerals and vitamins. Last but not least, I used to take protein in the required amount, which was again very well set by the dietician based on my goal.

Macros and quantified diet

Throughout the journey, I was very particular about the calories and measurements. And it was all thanks to the measuring spoons provided by the WFH at the strat. Because of those spoons, I was able to control every calorie. I used to measure the listed foods using the measurements and spoon numbers provided.

Workout Followed to achieve the goal

Simply being in the comfort of my own home, my workout strategy was created from the ground up with my specific goals, exercise experience, and circumstances in mind. The training programme was designed to achieve more than just a quick body transformation. It also assisted me in addressing mobility and posture issues, as well as in developing an overall healthier body and lifestyle.

My workout routine was mostly cardio, Zumba with some strength training mixed. I usually exercise in the evenings. I stick to a CrossFit session and don't go for more than an hour and a half of exercise. A typical CrossFit workout consists of 10 minutes of running, 3 minutes of jogging, and 10 minutes of stretching, which is necessary for a proper warm-up. Along with that, I make a conscious effort to move my body rather than just doing a workout and then staying in one place for the rest of the day.

What difficulties were you facing during the transformation journey?

I am someone who attends a lot of events, parties, and one of my main concerns was how I would maintain my diet while socializing. But the WFH team was so supportive and used to swap food with something available nearby or in a restaurant, it was being done in the blink of an eye, while still ensuring the target calorie intake and nutrients are met for that specific meal. If I am unable to work out one day, they will substitute bodyweight exercises to ensure that I meet my goal the following day.

How do you stay motivated?

My motivation to exercise stemmed entirely from my desire to learn and explore what my body is capable of. Every aspect of the training programme was thoroughly explained as it progressed, constantly increasing my understanding of my body and key fitness principles. This knowledge will allow me to fully manage my own training workouts in the future.

The WFH team of coaches on the live video feature was supporting and explaining each scientifically-backed nutrition and training protocol, which are personalised based on my level of expertise, and convenience of equipment or no equipment.

What lifestyle changes did you make?

My diet was the most significant change I made in my life; now I calculate each bite and make it count by being healthy and nutritious. Another thing I changed was my sedentary lifestyle; I now make an effort to move my body daily, such as by taking the stairs rather than the elevator. Or opening the door as soon as it rings, rather than waiting for someone else to do so.

Lessons learnt from the transformation

I've learned that it's easy to get scared and wonder how you're going to lose this much weight or think how I'm going to change my lifestyle. But it isn't actually that difficult if you start doing it.
